Aishwarya Sushmita On Her Journey
In a recent chat with Hindustan Times, actor Aishwarya Sushmita was asked if she was afraid about being stereotyped in playing Kiki in Bad Cop, given that she had previously portrayed dark and grey characters in Special Ops 1.5 and Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, Aishwarya Sushmita explained that she started her career with Special Ops and that she believes that her character Kiki wasn’t entirely grey. She continued by saying that she would rather describe it as bold and not timid. She revealed that initially, her schedule for the film was just for 6-7 days which ended up taking more than that which overlapped with Kay Kay Menon’s schedule. She mentioned that she trusted Neeraj Pandey and that her chance to work with such a big team was an obvious choice.

When asked about her unique name, she said that whenever she heard about Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen, she was inspired and wanted to strive for excellence. Talking about the qualities she aspired from Sushmita Sen, she said that she was mesmerised by her confidence and her way of speaking and also liked Aishwarya Rai’s elegance. This was the reason why her parents named her Aishwarya Sushmita.
When asked about the harassment of women in the entertainment industry, Aishwarya Sushmita said that the harassment of women is not limited to just one industry. She said that she had heard that a lot of women were harassed even in the corporate sector. She said that some people don’t understand boundaries and it’s up to one to protect themselves and handle it. She expressed that even though incidents in the entertainment industry are immediately reported, many in the corporate sector go unnoticed.
