Arijit Singh is celebrated for his soul-stirring voice and huge following, but his talent is also quite expensive. The singer, who often sees thousands showing up for his live performances, reportedly demands an impressive 2 crore for a single show. This unexpected fact surfaced in a recent interview with composer Monty Sharma, who provided perspectives on just how different the music industry has become over the years.
Arijit Singh’s Concert Fee Revealed
As per Monty, what used to be a few lakhs now costs crores and Arijit’s charges are a very good example of this change. Monty reminisced about the good old days of music production, stating that whole songs were produced for just 2 lakh and that it involved everything from getting a 40-member orchestra to producing the finished track. As his career developed, Monty remembered charging 35,000 per track despite the extravagant cost of production.
That being said, things are much different today. Monty said that Arijit Singh, who used to sit with him for hours during music classes, now gets paid 2 crore per concert. While music is more readily available through platforms like YouTube and OTT players, artists now have a broader reach and, of course, larger paychecks.
He also pointed out that though composers put a lot of money into every track, most of the profits today go to sound companies that own the rights, particularly in this digital streaming era. Monty Sharma, whose compositions for Devdas, Black, and Saawariya have earned him a name for himself, has been a name to reckon with in the music industry for decades. His story is an indication of just how far the industry has come.
While that is happening, Arijit Singh is again ruling the charts. His new songs, Dhun from Saiyaara and a few from Metro. In Dino, have touched the hearts of listeners. The fans are also waiting with bated breath for Aavan Jaavan, his song for the coming action movie War 2.
