The advertising world lost a legend, Piyush Pandey. He was the one who changed the face of advertising in India with his campaigns and jingles. Some of his advertisements went on to become very popular and also became the tagline for those particular brands. In the 90s, there was a Cadbury ad that grabbed many eyeballs, and for those of you who still don’t know, it was Piyush Pandey’s campaign. Shimona Rashi became an overnight sensation after she featured in the 90s Cadbury ad. She portrayed a happy girl who danced her heart out when her favourite cricketer won the match. That blue also became iconic. The happy-girl vibes became quite a statement that time, and this too was Piyush Pandey’s advertisement. However, not just that, even Shimona Rashi was selected by him.

As per an NDTV report, Piyush Pandey was not looking for a perfect model or dancer for this role. And that’s when he found Shimona Rashi and she was just natural. She was neither a professional dancer and Piyush Pandey’s vision became reality when she delivered precisely what he was looking for. Interesting, Shimona Rashi gave one single take for this advertisement which was shot at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
