Dia Mirza Defends Ibrahim Ali Khan, Khushi Kapoor; Says There’s A Culture Of Attacking The Privileged

After the release of Dharma Productions’ Nadaaniyan on Netflix, the lead pair Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor received a lot of backlash on the internet. The duo were trolled for their bad acting and dialogue delivery. While many criticised the film, this debate took a personal turn, which actor Dia Mirza spoke about. She expressed concern over how such criticism could take a toll on young minds.

Dia Mirza On Nadaaniyan Trolling

During a conversation with Bombay Times, Dia Mirza, who played the role of Ibrahim Ali Khan’s mother, commented on the trolls. She said, “I have never been in favor of personal attacks and find them extremely disrespectful,” she said. “Everyone is free to have an opinion, but it shouldn’t be expressed at the cost of somebody’s mental health.” She said that she was concerned about the mental health of the young actors and the harshness they were facing. She said that she noticed a culture of ‘eat the privilege’ going on.
