Many sources suggested that Salman Khan had been confirmed for the role of 'Bade Sahab' in Dhurandhar 2.
Bollywood star Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has gained worldwide recognition with its stunning visuals and impeccable acting. The film earned around Rs 1300 crore, which is nearly 5 times its reported budget of Rs 280 crores. From Arjun Rampal to Akshaye Khanna to Sara Arjun, everyone has received massive praise after its release. But did you know this was originally meant to be a series? Read to know what happened here.
About Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar
As quoted in NDTV, peers close to Dhurandhar said that initially, Aditya Dhar was contemplating a series, but because of the scale and confidence in the story, it made him rethink this treatment. It was not a last-minute decision to turn the project into a film and not a series, but when the shooting started, it was planned as a feature-length film. The production for the second part is currently happening with Aditya Dhar’s wife, Yami Gautam, set to play a key role.
This would be the second time the duo will be working together after Uri: The Surgical Strike. For the unversed, they had also collaborated on Dhar’s productions, including Article 370 and Dhoom Dhaam. While Dhurandhar’s tremendous success has made its sequel one of the most awaited films of 2026, the new film will compete at the box office with Kannada blockbuster Toxic, starring KGF franchise star Yash. There will be stiff competition at the ticket window on March 19, but cinephiles and distributors may rest easy.
Many sources suggested that Salman Khan had been confirmed for the role of ‘Bade Sahab’ in Dhurandhar 2. However, neither the actor nor the producers has responded to the released image. What are your thoughts about this? Let us know.
