Dhruv Rathee Slams Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Says Aditya Dhar Film Is Inspired By Whatsapp Forwards!

Aditya Dhar’s director, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, released in theatres on March 19, and nobody wants to miss it. However, the film has also received its fair share of criticism based on fact vs fiction. Recently, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee also shared his thoughts on the latest installment saying that the film downgrades the pain endured by the citizens of the country. Read here to know more.
What Did Dhruv Rathee Say?
The YouTuber and political commentator has opposed Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar since its release in December. He recently made a video on the new instalment, and it is titled “Dhurandhar 2 Exposed – What They Don’t Show You,” in which he shared his honest thoughts about the film. Dhruv Rathee took a dig at the disclaimer in the film that read, “inspired by real events”, and added that instead it should have been, “inspired by WhatsApp forwards.” He firmly stated that the film not only insults the nation but also dismisses the pain felt by the citizens of the country. Dhruv Rathee addressed the demonitisation shown in the film and questioned if the justification shown in the film logically made any sense. He further backed his claims by showing RBI reports and stating facts about the people who died due to standing in queues outside ATMs.
Dhruv Rathee also questioned the Supreme Court and the Election Commission if making such films that blurred the lines between reality and fiction was allowed. He added that if this is the way forward, then the same techniques would be used to make films against the same party.

On the other hand, Dhurandhar: The Revenge also found itself in a controversy after the Sikh Community issued notices against the makers over an AI image related to the film. Aditya Dhar addressed the row with an official statement.
