‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ Fame Deepika Singh Goyal Announces She’s Quitting TV Because It Took A Toll On Her Health

Over the years, we’ve seen several actors leaving the entertainment industry for reasons best known to them. And it looks like yet another actress has decided to walk away from television for good. Diya Aur Baati Hum fame Deepika Singh Goyal has been missing from the small screen for a while now and it looks like she won’t be returning to television. Speaking about the same, the actress shared that she has decided to quit TV as the long working hours took a toll on her health and she found it difficult to manage long-term commitments.

Following her five-year-long stint in Diya Aur Baati Hum, actress Deepika Singh Goyal took a break from television after the show ended in 2016. In 2019, the actress made a comeback with Kavach… MahaShivratri but 42 episodes later the show came to an end and the actress bid adieu to the small screen. Speaking about her decision to quit television according to a report by Hindustan Times, Deepika Singh Goyal said that she has decided to not do daily soaps as they usually have to pray that shows work for at least 1-2 years so that everyone can make a profit but she cannot afford to invest a long time in a show at her age. She went on to share that while working on daily soaps, most of the time the actors don’t even know when they will get their next off. Sharing that she did try to take up another project to see if she could manage, the actress revealed that things did not work in her favour.

Speaking about her health issues, Deepika Singh Goyal said that workout is essential for her body type as dieting alone does not help her manage her weight. She pointed out that while working for Kavach… MahaShivratri she couldn’t concentrate on her health or make time for a workout and that left her with the only option of diet which, in turn, led to low blood pressure and took a toll on her health. The actress who is now working for short films and OTT shows added that her health deteriorated to the point that she felt that she would have to quit acting altogether.

Discussing financial stability, the actress shared that despite leaving the television industry, she was able to maintain financial stability only due to social media. Pointing out that she is an independent woman who bears her own expenses, Deepika Singh Goyal said that while the profits are not as huge in social media as they were in television but she manages to get by. She also spoke about being body shamed for her post-pregnancy body and said that it motivated her to work hard and get fit.
