Deepika Padukone’s Fans Respond To Trolls Criticising Her For Not Wearing Mangalsutra

Recently, people on  X (Former Twitter) raised concerns about why Deepika Padukone wasn’t wearing a mangal sutra to Siddhivinayak Temple. This topic sparked a huge debate among netizens. Many people trolled Deepika Padukone for not applying Sindoor as well. As if, she isn’t an adult who can make her own decisions and do whatever she likes. A woman also wrote something very funny and illogical. She stated, “Imagine making so much money and yet the inability to afford a mangalsutra; especially when visiting a temple. And #DeepikaPadukone is the brand ambassador for #tanishq Lol.” Where’s the logic? In response to heavy criticism, her fans came in support and clapped back at trolls. One user on X wrote, “Tbf mangalsutra is the least of the criticisms the mother-to-be has gotten during her pregnancy. The negative energy the Mumbai/north/Hindi speaking crowd has been sending towards her is insane to even from a casual noticer’s pov.” Another internet user joined the discussion and added, “People on Twitter raising concerns about why Deepika Padukone isn’t wearing a mangalsutra are just like those orthodox aunties who can’t mind their own business and always want to dictate what others should do in life.”

More users extended support to the actor and wrote, “There was more outrage on Indian social media about Deepika Padukone not wearing mangalsutra to a temple than a woman being raped in daylight in Ujjain, MP in front of onlookers! Imagine being a self-professed SPOKESPERSON OF HINDUISM, a tradition with diverse beliefs. Liking or not liking Deepika is another thing. Wearing mangalsutra is a CHOICE.” Why is it so hard to fathom that women have a choice and can do whatever they like? From calling her baby bump fake to bashing her for not wearing Mangalsutra, can people leave her alone? It’s an individual’s choice and that should be enough!
