Deepika Padukone Exits From Kalki 2898 AD Sequel
Vyjayanthi Movies, in a statement on their X (formerly known as Twitter), announced the news by writing, “This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways.”
Netizens quickly observed that the tone of the post seems to be bitter, as they also further added, “Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works.” Many thought that this was an accusation towards Deepika for not fully committing to the project.
The X post was filled with fan reactions who were extremely confused and started making speculations about Deepika Padukone’s exit. This is not the first film that the actress has walked out of this year. A few months ago, she also departed from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film titled Spirit.
Reports suggested that this decision came after a conflict with the director over working hours and film profits. Deepika Padukone also allegedly refused to deliver her dialogues in Tamil during filming. After a public reaction by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which quickly turned messy, she was replaced by Triptii Dimri in the project.
