Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s next project, King, is one of the most speculated ones in recent times. Everyone is excited to see the actor’s newest avatar alongside his daughter Suhana Khan. And in recent updates, it is being reported that Deepika Padukone has been locked for the film, as per Pinkvilla. The film will also star Abhay Verma, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhishek Bachchan in key roles.
Deepika Padukone Onboard For King
After starring in five blockbuster films like Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Pathaan, and Jawan, Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in yet another epic film, proving that they are one of Bollywood’s most loved duos. The film will be directed by Siddharth Anand and is currently under pre-production. The filming will begin on May 18 in Mumbai.
The source told the publication that SRK was always sure about Deepika Padukone being onboard for King, but initially their schedules didn’t match due to her taking time off for her newborn. She was also hitting the gym to get back into shape. But due to the delay in scheduling, she was back on board. Padukone will be shooting for her role in the second half of 2025. It’s not a cameo, but a full-length role and the director has crafted the perfect role for her.
According to the publication, King’s producers intend to release the film in the second half of the year. However, understanding will improve once the shoot begins.
