As per the outlet’s discovery, it mentioned the cause and manner of Celeste’s death, which was stated as ‘deferred.’ The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner performed an autopsy; however, the authorities are waiting for toxicology results before determining how the 15-year-old died. Without all this, the investigators cannot confirm whether the cause of her death was foul play or another case. Having said that, the certificate clarified some details that have gone viral on social media.
It confirmed that Hernandez was found in a vehicle and that she was not pregnant at the time of her death or the year prior. LAPD Captain Scot Williams also highlighted that those results are important for the investigation to know how she died. Until then, he has continued to classify the case as a ‘death investigation’ and not a homicide.
