JYP Entertainment’s Korean boy band Day6 recently held their fan meeting in South Korea. MyDays (Day6’s fans) were extremely happy and excited to finally see their favourite band live and interact with them; however, things quickly went south. Instead of being a happy event, Day6’s ‘PIER TEN: All My Days’ fanmeeting turned into a nightmare for some fans. Now the fandom is demanding JYP Entertainment to apologise and issue refunds. Read on to know the entire situation.
A Korean Day6 fan posted their experience attending the group’s fanmeet and expressed several grievances. In their post, the fan said that people attending the meet were denied entry after the staff at the venue had demanded to check their ID. This was strange because IDs were never checked before at a Day6 event, so several fans did not carry them. Many then showed their student IDs to the staff but were still denied entry.
The fan then ended up going to a nearby police station to help with identity verification. The police were very helpful, but even with their help, the venue staff did not budge. Many other Day6 fans had similar experiences. The fan noted that many attendees were crying while their parents were pleading with the staff to let them in.
The fan’s post instantly went viral and Day6’s company JYP Entertainment later issued an apology. In their apology, the company stated that such strict measures were taken in order to restrict scalpers. They also said that all these people who were denied entry will be eligible for a refund for their tickets.
In their statement, the company wrote, “Audience members who purchased tickets for the fan meeting week 1 (sessions 1-3) but were restricted from entering due to excessive on-site verification procedures despite being the original ticket purchaser.”

However, Day6 fans were not happy with the company’s response. Many fans had travelled from far to see the band. They had spent money on hotel, flights and food, not just the tickets. They also demanded that the company repay for the psychological damage that this whole ordeal created for the attendees, especially Day6’s younger fans.
