Danish Taimoor Breaks Silence On Viral Polygamy Remark, Says “Choice Of Words Was Poor.” Good He Realised!
Pakistani actor Danish Taimoor recently found himself at the centre of a social media storm following remarks about polygamy!

Pakistani actor Danish Taimoor recently found himself at the centre of a social media storm following remarks about polygamy during a Ramadan television program. The actor, known for his roles in popular dramas such as ‘Rehaai’ and ‘Deewangi’, appeared alongside his wife, actress Ayeza Khan, when he commented on the Islamic allowance for men to have up to four wives. His choice of words, particularly the phrase “for now,” sparked widespread criticism, leading Taimoor to issue a public apology to address the backlash.
What did Danish Taimoor say?
During the broadcast, Taimoor stated, “I have the permission from God for four marriages; I’m not doing it ‘for now.” This remark, especially the “for now” segment, was perceived by many as insensitive and disrespectful towards his wife. Social media platforms were soon flooded with reactions condemning the actor’s comments, accusing him of undermining the sanctity of his marriage.
In response to the escalating criticism, Taimoor took to Instagram to clarify his intentions and apologize. He expressed regret over his choice of words, emphasizing that he never intended to disrespect his wife. “I know you guys are a little upset with me. Whatever happened that day, some people think that I disrespected my wife, but that was not what happened and that was never my intention. I love her a lot and perhaps my choice of words was poor,” Taimoor remarked.
The actor further explained his habitual use of the term “for now,” attributing it to his belief in the impermanence of life. He acknowledged that, in this context, the phrase was inappropriate and may have led to misunderstandings. Taimoor also highlighted his 18-year career, noting that he has largely remained free from controversies and wishes to maintain that record. He urged the public to consider his intentions rather than focusing solely on his words, stating, “I would want this issue to end right here, right now. If my intention and my heart are pure, what’s the point of escalating the issue any further?”
Ayeza Khan, Taimoor’s wife, has not publicly commented on the controversy. However, her demeanor during the initial broadcast, where she was seen nodding alongside her husband, has been a point of discussion among viewers. The couple, married since 2014, are considered one of Pakistan’s most beloved celebrity pairs, sharing two children together.
