Netflix dropped the trailer of the much-anticipated show Dabba Cartel. The trailer launch event was attended by the entire cast which included class-apart actors like Shabana Azmi, Lillete Dubey and Jyothika among others. During the media interaction with the cast, Shabana Azmi made a shocking confession about the casting process of the web series. The veteran actor revealed that she did not want Jyothika to be a part of the show. Read here for more.
What Did Shabana Azmi Say?
During the Q&A session with the media, Shabana Azmi made a shocking confession about the casting process of her upcoming show Dabba Cartel. The actress said that she wanted to remove two actresses from the series and one of them was Jyothika. Shabana Azmi also said that she had asked Shibani Akhtar and Farhan Akhter to cast someone else instead of Jyothika. The actress further added that she was glad Shibani and Farhan did not listen to her and stuck to their original cast for the show. Shabana Azmi expressed her happiness about working with Jyothika.
On the other hand, her co-star Jyothika was seen smiling throughout while Shabana Azmi recalled this incident. When asked about the second actor who she wanted to remove, Shabana Azmi revealed that she was not present in that room.
Dabba Cartel’s trailer promises a very thrilling crime drama. Apart from the aforementioned actresses, the series also consists of stars like Gajraj Rao, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat. The series is directed by Hitesh Bhatia, and written by Vishnu Menon and Bhavna Kher. Created by Shibani Akhtar and Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapur, and Akanksha Seda.
