Rhea Kapoor Is Afraid Of Sequels, But She “Might Just” Make One For Crew!

The heist comedy Crew which has charmed its way through the hearts of audiences is set to have a sequel. Were you expecting that? Crew boasting an ensemble cast of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon, has not on;y been a box-office success but has also managed to stir a wave of excitement for what lies ahead. Rhea Kapoor, alongside co-producer Ektaa Kapoor, recently talked about the possibility of a sequel of Crew being right around the corner.

The ending of Crew was a good one but did leave the fans yearning for more and it seems that their wishes are about the come true. Rhea Kapoor candidly expressed her reservations about making a sequel before but then she admitted that the overwhelming response and support coupled with some innovative ideas by the writers have paved the way for a sequel.

When asked about making sequels, Rhea Kapoor said that she’s quite afraid of them. She went ahead and confessed saying that Crew is the first film where she finished the film and a week later, the writers of the film messaged her saying they had an idea for a sequel. She expressed her excitement and joy and said that this time she might actually do it.

The storyline of Crew revolves around three women working as cabin crew members who find their lives turned upside down due to a few events. The narrative is an engaging blend of humour and suspense coupled with stellar performances which has made the film reach the level of success. The impressive opening weekend box office collection and the love and support from the fans are reasons enough to say that the potential for Crew to evolve into a franchise was undeniable.

Further giving the fans another much-anticipated event to think about, Rhea Kapoor also hinted at another sequel for the 2018 hit Veere Di Wedding, talking about how it’s a fruitful period for films centred around strong women characters. The anticipation of Crew 2 is slowly building up, thanks to performances by not only the lead actors but also Diljit Dosanjh, Kapil Sharma, and others.
