Everybody’s favourite cartoon character and anime, Shin-chan, is coming to India. The new film Crayon Shin Chan the Movie: Super Hot! The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers depict our beloved and chaotic Nohara family and friends taking a trip all the way from Japan to India. From nostalgic humour to running gags that will leave you in fits. Here are 5 thoughts we had about the film! Read on to know more.

Portrayal of India

With Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Hot! The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers being set in India. I was very curious about how the country would be portrayed in the film. Surprisingly, there were many impressive elements and attention to detail. From depicting India’s vibrant culture to specific details like Paytm scanners in front of vendor stalls and kulhad chai, Indian fans will enjoy spotting these references.

Signature Animation

One of the highlights of watching the Shin-chan film for me was the nostalgic signature animation style that we all grew up with. In an era of AI and CGI, Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Super Hot! The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers’ blend of hand-drawn and computer-generated (CG) animation feels refreshing and will take you back to the days when you were ten, watching the series after school.

Weak Plot Line

The plot of the film is straightforward; it follows the Kasukabe Defence Force- Shin Chan, Kasama, Masao, Bo, and Nene, as they fly to India to participate in an entertainment show along with Shin Chan’s family. Shin Chan and Bo stumble upon an antique store where they inadvertently buy a cursed item that unleashes chaos. The storyline is easy to follow with few complex elements; however, compared to earlier films from the franchise like Great Adventure in Henderland and Super Dimension, it feels less substantial.

Meaningful Message

Though people don’t consider Shin Chan to be very family-friendly, the message of the film and the overall franchise has always been meaningful and teaches the viewers a lesson. For this film in particular, the message of the plot was to be oneself despite what people expect of you. Through Bo-chan and his character arc, viewers learn that one does not need to be perfect or overpowered to feel special; sometimes, all you need is to be yourself.

A Hilarious Film That Excels At Brainrot

Shin Chan is renowned for its absurd humour, and The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers proudly uphold this legacy. Many moments in the film will make you chuckle just because of their sheer silliness. A character named Mr. ‘Mhm uhm’ and an oversized chapati threatening to take over the world add to the humour. The film also features funny renditions of iconic songs like Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ and AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’.
