This week’s much-anticipated release is Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by Homi Adjania, the film is a spiritual sequel to Cocktail that featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. How Much Is The Cocktail 2 Cast Earning?
The film stars three actors in pivotal roles- Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna. All three of them are crucial for the film’s plot. Now, going by a Bollywood Life report, Shahid Kapoor is charging Rs 21 crore for Cocktail 2, his highest so far for theatrical release. Reportedly, the actor has received bigger paychecks for his OTT projects like Farzi. On the other hand, the leading ladies Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna are getting Rs 8 crore and Rs 6 crore, respectively. For Kriti Sanon, too, this is her highest paycheck for a theatrical release. While Rashmika Mandanna’s popularity in the South Indian film industry is comparatively high, considering she is a few films old in Bollywood and is playing an important supporting character in the film, the number has been accordingly decided, the report suggests.
However, there is still a huge difference in pay between the male actor and the female stars in the film. But, well, this is not the first time that we are seeing such a vast pay gap in the fees. This is usually dependent on the fact that male actors bring in more audience compared to their female counterparts, which is extremely sad! We can just hope to see some change in the existing pay gap, and again, hope that someday male and female actors will achieve parity in this aspect as well.
Cocktail 2′s is reportedly made in a budget of Rs 150 crore. The film is set to release on June 19.
