Dhurandhar star Ayesha Khan made headlines after she was detained by the Mumbai Police while protesting with students over the NEET paper leak scandal. The protest, spearheaded by the cockroach Janata Party (CJP) saw many celebrities come in support. The month-long protest led by the CJP and Sonam Wangchuk at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar saw many Bollywood celebrities like Imran Khan, Pratibha Ranta, Sonakshi Sinha, and moe stand in solidarity among the students. Along with them, actor Ayesha Khan also came on the protest held in Mumbai on July 22. But tensions soon flared up after the police did lathi charge and detained many protestors, leading to widespread outrage on social media. And among many who were detained, actor Ayesha Khan was also there, whose videos instantly went viral online. And just a week later after her arrest, Ayesha Khan took to her Instagram and shared a workout video of herself.
And in the comment section, the Cockroach Janta Party’s official handle praised her for standing in solidarity with the students’ movement. The comment thanked her for her support and praised her commitment to their cause which stood with justice and education. For the unversed, after her arrest, Khan shared a video stating that she, he brother, and a group of friends had come to join the protest scheduled at 4 PM in Dadar. As per her, even though they had only just arrived at the location, a police officer told them that they were not allowed to protest and allegedly pulled her brother and a friend into a van before they could respond.
