Bollywood star Chitrangda Singh has made a mark for herself in the industry with many iconic films. While the actor remained off-screen for a while, she has been back with a band. In recent updates, she will be seen in Netflix’s upcoming series called Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, which will mark her OTT debut. During a recent interview, the actor revealed that many people mistaken her for being a Bengali and how once a publication even mistook her surname to be ‘Sen.’

Chitrangda Singh On Being Mistaken For A Bengali

During an interview at her OTT debut’s trailer launch, the actress was asked if she was ever mistaken to be from Bengal to which she had an interesting story to tell. Singh revealed that many people talk to her in Bengali assuming she is one. “Many people mistaken my name to be Chitrangda ‘Sen’ and not ‘Singh.’ A publication too ran my wrong name as a headline once. But that’s the love, because my name, Chitrangda has come from here only.”

Talking about the women of the state she described that they were so beautiful which is why she always took this mistake as a compliment. She revealed that she didn’t mind looking like a Bengali at all. The actress was also asked about how she enjoyed her time in Kolkata while shooting Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. “Before this, we had shot Bob Biswas here so I spent a lot of time but unfortunately, for this project, we didn’t get much time here.”

Chitrangda Singh recalled a scene from the series where a scene of speech at Victoria Memorial was one of the most memorable moments for her. She admitted how it was the toughest scene for her to work through. She called the city of Kolkata magic and even said that it was intellectually and creatively very fertile.
