Chitrangada Singh has opened up about a much-discussed topic in the entertainment world, cosmetic enhancements or plastic surgery, as people like to call it. In a recent interview, the Desi Boyz star shared how she absolutely disapproves of the judgment and trolling actresses often face for making personal choices about their appearance, and we really couldn’t agree more with her statement. What Did Chitrangada Singh Say About Cosmetic Surgeries?
Chitrangada said there’s nothing wrong if someone working in a visual medium chooses to enhance their looks. According to her, the entertainment industry is all about image, and it’s perfectly reasonable for individuals to do what makes them feel confident. She emphasised that it’s not anyone’s place to make moral assumptions about someone’s decision to use fillers or undergo cosmetic procedures.
She said that if someone goes a little far with it, that’s their version of beauty, adding that beauty is subjective and personal. She also spoke about how what really bothered her the most was how people always attack someone’s character over their appearance. Chitrangada strongly opposed this toxic behaviour, saying such harsh criticism is just not needed.
The actress also pointed out how online negativity often crosses the line into bullying, trolling and cruelty. She acknowledged that while constructive feedback is always welcome, the kind of trolling that goes on today is rarely that; instead, it’s often rude, unnecessary, and deeply hurtful. “Some of the things people say can be downright shocking,” she admitted, clearly disturbed by the tone of some online commentary. Chitrangada’s comments come at a time when in the industry appearances are constantly scrutinised, and women, in particular, are often targeted for choosing to tweak their looks.
