Recent rumors suggesting that the makers of Chandramukhi demanded Rs 5 crore from actress Nayanthara for using clips from the film in her Netflix documentary have been dismissed. To address the speculation, an official No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by Sivaji Productions to Nayanthara has surfaced online, providing clarity on the matter.
Chandramukhi Makers On NOC For Nayanthara Documentary
The NOC, shared by trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan on social media, confirms that Sivaji Productions granted permission for the use of specific footage in Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale, a Netflix documentary celebrating the actress’s life and career. Contrary to the reports, there is no mention of any monetary demand made by Sivaji Productions from Rowdy Pictures, the production house owned by Nayanthara and her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan.
The certificate explicitly states that the footage was approved for use in the Netflix series without any conditions tied to financial compensation. This statement has put to rest allegations of a hefty fee being demanded by the makers of Chandramukhi.
This isn’t the first time Nayanthara has faced challenges while working on her Netflix documentary. The actress was previously involved in a legal conflict with actor Dhanush over visuals from their 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, produced by Dhanush. Nayanthara reportedly sought permission to include clips from the movie, but Dhanush refused and sent her a legal notice, allegedly demanding Rs 10 crore in damages.
The issue escalated when Dhanush filed a civil lawsuit in the Madras High Court against Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, and Netflix, claiming unauthorized use of the film’s footage. Despite these legal hurdles, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale continues to stream on Netflix, showcasing the actress’s journey from stardom to personal fulfillment.
