Social media recently went into a frenzy after Cha Eun Woo’s number leaked online. After the number was posted, people quickly dialled it in hopes of talking to the True Beauty actor. Upon calling, fans heard Eun Woo reply, where he greeted them by saying, “Hello.” While many fans were delighted to talk to Cha Eun Woo, others were worried about the idol’s privacy being breached.
However, after the chaos subsided, it was revealed that the entire situation was actually a marketing stunt by Cha Eun Woo’s team, and the message that people heard when calling the number was actually pre-recorded. This was a promotional move to promote Eun Woo’s upcoming album titled ELSE.

Following the confusion, on November 4, Cha Eun Woo’s team posted the phone number (070-8919-0330) on his official social media with the message, “Call me now, before the sound is gone.” The reason why this strategy was used by Eun Woo’s company, Fantiago, was that since the idol is currently enlisted and will not be able to promote, they needed to do something that would catch the audience’s attention.
