Body Of 15-Year-Old Celeste Rivas Found In D4vd’s Car Returned To Family For Memorial Service

On September 10, authorities found a decomposed body at the bank of an abandoned Tesla in Los Angeles. The car was later found to be registered under American singer D4vd’s name. The police also identified the body as that of 15-year-old missing teenager Celeste Rivas. Now, TMZ has reported that the Los Angeles County Coroner has released Celeste’s body to her relatives for her memorial service. Read on to know more.

Celeste Rivas’ Body Returned To Family As Investigation Into D4vd’s Role Continues

Media outlet TMZ reported on September 23 that Celeste’s body had been released to her family for a final memorial service. This news comes shortly after her family released a statement regarding Celeste’s death. In their statement, the family wrote,  “As many of you know, Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been identified as the body found last week.” Esmeralda Lozano and Gisel Vera, the founders of a charity organised on GoFundMe for the victim, also addressed the situation by saying, “She was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend; her family is heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss. They are seeking help to lay her body to rest. Any funds you are able to donate are greatly appreciated.”

According to the GoFundMe page, Celeste Rivas’ funeral is scheduled to be held on October 4. The family has not officially confirmed the date yet.

Investigation-wise, authorities are still looking into the case. D4vd’s connection to Celeste’s death has been widely pointed out by users online. Much evidence, such as matching tattoos, Discord messages and testimonies, has come out against D4vd since the case became public. The singer has stated that he will be fully cooperating with the investigation and has cancelled his ongoing world tour.

On Sept. 17, detectives served a search warrant on the 1300 block of Doheny Place in LA in connection with Rivas’ death,  a residence reportedly associated with d4vd. Authorities revealed to PEOPLE that several items were recovered from the search and will now be analysed for evidence in the case.
