Police Say Celeste Rivas Likely Died Weeks Before Her Body Was Discovered Inside D4vd’s Car
The Los Angeles Police is still investigating the case.

The Los Angeles Police Department has recently confirmed that they suspect that the remains of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was found inside D4vd’s abandoned Tesla a few weeks ago, were stored in the vehicle for days. The car, which was identified as belonging to the ‘Romantic Homicide’ singer in Los Angeles, was towed on September 8 after being left behind while he was touring. Read on to know more.
Police Reveal Celeste Rivas’ Body Might Have Been Stored In D4vd’s Car For Weeks
Police confirmed to People that Celeste Rivas’ body was found in the front trunk of the Tesla, and LAPD Captain Scot M. Williams explained that the car had been parked at the scene for “several weeks.” He said that this “strongly indicates” Hernandez had been dead for weeks before the tragic discovery.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner hasn’t come up with a cause or manner of her death, so we don’t know for certain whether anyone has any criminal culpability aside from the covering up of her lifeless body,” Williams said. The LAPD robbery-homicide unit is still investigating.
The vehicle was towed after neighbours complained of a strong smell coming from the abandoned car in the Hollywood Hills. Rivas Hernandez’s body was discovered one day after she would have turned 15 years old. Williams verified that police served a search warrant on a home close to where the car was towed. A landlord, as reported by SFGate, indicated that D4vd had been residing there with his manager but left soon after authorities took electronics and other materials. Police have not validated what was seized.
Speculation also circulated online about the teen’s potential relationship with the musician after the Los Angeles Times wrote she seemed to have a tattoo matching one D4vd wore. Williams, though, said it was premature to make any conclusions regarding their relationship.

The Ongoing Investigation
Even if his agent has indicated that D4vd is working with the authorities, the LAPD hasn’t confirmed this. The artist has not been charged or named as a suspect in the case yet. Celeste had gone missing in April 2024, and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has verified the case as an investigation into homicide.
