Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, Homebound premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 and earned a standing ovation. And now, the Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor starrer has been officially selected as India’s entry for the Academy Awards next year. Plot Of Homebound
As per the trailer, it follows two young friends, Chandan Kumar (Vishal Jethwa) and Mohammed Shoaib (Ishaan Khatter), who dream big. These childhood buddies want to achieve their goals, but the path isn’t easy, as they face unfair challenges because they come from oppressed communities. Despite the obstacles, the boys are determined to overcome society’s barriers and rise above to make their dreams come true.
