Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar took over the country by storm, and its second part is receiving the same love. From thrilling action to strong emotions, audiences can’t stop praising the film. One aspect that everyone is talking about is the brilliant casting. In a recent interview, casting director Mukesh Chhabra opened up about the process of selecting actors along with director Aditya Dhar. Read on to know more!
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Mukesh Chhabra shared how difficult it was to cast actors for Dhurandhar. He said the film was first planned as one big movie. But just before release, the makers decided to split it into two parts because it was very long. Together, both parts are nearly eight hours long and have more than 300 characters. Hence, finding the right actor for every role took two full years.
He worked very closely with director Aditya Dhar on the casting. Even though they are good friends, they had many arguments during the process. But Aditya Dhar always gave very clear instructions about what he wanted. This helped Mukesh Chhabra understand the characters easily and pick the perfect cast.
The casting director feels happy that people are praising the casting so much. He says this proves the audience has really connected with the story and characters.
According to Mukesh Chhabra, one big reason the casting turned out so well is that only he and Aditya Dhar made the final decisions. He believes that when too many people get involved in casting, the quality usually drops.
Well, fans truly cannot stop talking about how perfectly every character was brought to life.
