Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra Says It Is Heartening To See Asian Talent Getting Recognition At Cannes 2022

The Cannes Film Festival 2022 has come to an end and we got to see stars from all across the globe being their best dresses and walking down the red carpet. Well, this time, it was a special occasion as several south-east Asian actors and projects got recognition at the Cannes. Priyanka Chopra has been highly vocal about the Asian representation in the west being an Asian actress herself. So, when prominent awards at the Cannes were awarded to Asian projects, Priyanka could not help but feel proud of them and took to her Instagram stories to appreciate and congratulate them all.

The Desi Girl’s Instagram story read, “Cannes Film Festival 2022. Congratulations to all the winners at the Cannes Film Festival 2022. It’s especially heartening to see the recognition for all the powerful talent from Asia.” The jury prize for Un Certain Regard 2022 was given to director Saim Sadiq’s film Joyland. In the following stories, PeeCee also shared pictures of all those artists who won the the best screenplay, best actor, bets actress and best director among others.

We love how Asian talent is being recognised on a global platform such as Cannes. It is indeed high time that Asia talent gets it due acknowledgment and attention.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Priyanka Chopra is currently working on her Hollywood project Citadel. She has been sharing pictures to give her fans updates about her time on the set. Quite recently, she shared a photo her with her face wherein she had a bloodied and bruised face.
