BTS V Breaks Silence On His Private Messages Being Exposed Without Consent In NewJeans-ILLIT Plagiarism Row
BTS’s V, also known as Kim Taehyung, posted on his Instagram story to clear things up. He said the KakaoTalk messages with Min Hee-jin were just normal chats between people who knew each other. In those older messages, the ‘Slow Dancing’ singer mentioned he saw some things that looked similar after hearing about plagiarism claims. He also said he never wanted to take sides in any argument and added that he was really surprised and upset because these private messages were used in court without him being asked or agreeing first.
As someone who understands Korean, Taehyung was just empathizing with someone he was working with at that time. Basically it’s like your colleague complaining about your colleague and you just reply whatever so they would STFU. https://t.co/K5OTFpsMZk

Soon, fans, aka ARMYs, showed support. They believe private messages should stay private and should not be shared without permission. Many called it unfair to bring everyday conversations into a massive legal fight.
They are also trending tags like #ProtectTaehyung, #HYBEProtectTaehyung, and #BIGHITProtectTaehyung on X (Formerly Twitter) and are asking the company to keep him safe from all kinds of issues.

For the unversed, the entire issue began with ILLIT’s debut in March 2024 under HYBE’s Belift Lab. Min Hee-jin claimed ILLIT copied parts of NewJeans, like their style, songs such as ‘Magnetic’, dance steps, and their overall look. This started a huge argument inside HYBE and on social media platforms. Later, the court stated that some opinions about similarities were reasonable but did not prove actual copying.
