IVE Wonyoung’s Instagram Flooded With Hate Comments After Dating Rumours With BTS V Go Viral

K-pop idols are often embroiled in dating rumours. In K-pop, anything from matching outfits to mutual friends can result in relationship speculations between two idols. The industry’s latest speculations involve BTS V and IVE’s Wonyoung. The news went viral on social media, and Wonyoung’s Instagram has unfortunately been flooded with personal attacks and misogynistic insults. Read on to know more.

What Happened Between BTS V And IVE Wonyoung

The dating speculations started when a post went viral on the Chinese social media platform Douban. The post contained all the alleged details and ‘proofs’ that linked IVE’s Wonyoung and BTS V, including pictures taken at Seoul’s famous SAN restaurant. 

The post shared pictures of identical glasses and a table that both Wonyoung and BTS V had previously shared on their social media. People even scrolled through Wonyoung’s past pictures to point out how a marble table had featured on their couple of ties that looked familiar to the one in V’s home.

Other ‘proofs’ that the post listed to prove that the two idols were dating were when Wonyoung recommended a song that the BTS member had once played on his livestream.

Netizen Reaction

After the post went viral, many fans started flooding Wonyoung’s Instagram comments to leave hateful messages. The situation worsened when some users started posting altered screenshots to prove Wonyoung’s connection to V. However, despite the negativity, many people refused to believe these claims and came to Wonyoung’s defence, including ARMYS. 

Some netizens even pointed out how whenever a woman is linked to BTS V, she ends up receiving a lot of backlash from some so-called fans of the idol. IVE fans talked about how it’s very common for idols to visit the same restaurants, and there might even be a possibility that the two are indeed close. But people on the internet should respect the idol’s privacy and refrain from making accusatory statements or prying into their personal lives.

Wonyoung is currently promoting her group’s new album SECRET, while V is often seen on Weverse interacting with fans. The idol is set to be preparing for a BTS comeback, which is set to happen in March of next year.
