Did BTS RM Just Get A New Tattoo? Here’s What It Means!

BTS made a massive comeback with their fifth album Arirang, and it has created huge excitement online. The album includes 14 tracks, led by the title song ‘SWIM’, whose music video quickly hit millions of views. During their Studio Notes live broadcast on Weverse, fans spotted a new tattoo on leader RM, also known as Kim Namjoon. Everyone is talking about this new detail. Read on to know all about it.

BTS released Arirang on March 20, 2026, their first full group album in almost four years, with their title track ‘SWIM’, which is an energetic alternative pop track that stands out. In the Weverse live right after the release, the members talked about the songs, shared fun stories, and answered fan questions. During which, RM spoke about the ankle injury he was dealing with before their comeback live show. While chatting casually, the camera showed his wrist clearly, revealing a new tattoo that got everyone excited.

Fans zoomed in and quickly guessed it was a bass clef symbol. This musical sign, also called the F-clef, marks lower notes on sheet music. It is used for instruments like the bass guitar, cello, or the piano’s left hand, pointing to the F below middle C. Many ARMYs thought it suited RM perfectly because of his deep love for music, writing lyrics, and creative side. The new tattoo is near his old tattoo of seven, which honours the BTS members. ARMYs felt happy seeing him try something new and personal after so long.

Furthermore, on March 21, BTS will perform live at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. The special comeback concert will stream live on Netflix for fans everywhere. Then, on March 27, Netflix will release their new documentary and fans will get to see more of their journey back together as a full group.
