Netflix’s animated film KPop Demon Hunters is taking the world by storm. The movie, based on the K-pop industry and, well, demons, is instantly becoming a favourite and receiving critical acclaim. Now the hype of the film has reached the K-pop industry, on which the film is based on and many K-pop idols have weighed in with their reactions to the film. From Jungkook to Wooyoung, here’s what your favourite idol has to say about the movie.
BTS RM
When BTS did a group live on 1 July, fans were overjoyed to see all the members together. A specific moment that caught ARMY’s attention was when RM was heard singing ‘Soda Pop,’ performed by Saja Boys, the fictional boy group in Kpop Demon Hunters. The clip quickly went viral, and even Netflix joined in on the fun. The company changed its bio on X to ‘BTS NOTICED SAJA BOYS 7.01.25.’
ATEEZ Wooyoung
While most idols praised the film, Ateez’s Wooyoung had a different reaction. Wooyoung said he had a hard time getting immersed in the movie as it differed from real life. Many people criticised him for this statement as they pointed out that the animated film is supposed to be inaccurate, as its main plot is about fighting demons.
Taeyeon
Taeyeon also weighed in on the discussion with her opinion on KPop demon hunters. The Girls’ Generation member also did not understand the hype of the film. In a conversation with fans, Taeyeon expressed that she felt the movie was childish.
BTS Jungkook
In a recent live, Jungkook got emotional talking about the scene in the movie. Jungkook expressed frustration with the male lead, Jinu’s actions in the film’s climax. He said that the particular scene moved him to tears. Jungkook also pointed out an error in the pronunciation of a word in one of the movie’s songs. Fans were impressed by his sharp ears.
SEVENTEEN Woozi
SEVENTEEN’s Woozi had a hilarious reaction after watching KPop Demon Hunters. There is a scene in the film where the members of a boy group and a girl group hold a joint fansign event together. Woozi said this would be unrealistic in real life, and fans can not help but agree.
