During an interview on the Kajufriends YouTube channel, casting director Min-mi discussed her role in forming BTS. Specifically, her story behind casting the maknae of BTS, Jungkook, has gone viral. Min-mi described spotting him and being enchanted by his presence. His bright eyes and adorable appearance made her feel he was destined for greatness.
Min-mi further shared that Jungkook’s appeal was so strong she couldn’t ignore it. While other casting directors were also interested, she felt a unique connection to him. His glow and charm convinced her that he was a perfect fit for BigHit Music. She believed he had the potential to shine, even without a formal audition. This led her to approach him directly.
She recalled the competitive atmosphere, with other agencies eagerly pursuing Jungkook. Some even waited at Seoul Station to meet him. Despite this, Min-mi spoke to Jungkook’s father and urged him to sign with BigHit immediately.
After considering the offers, Jungkook’s father trusted BigHit Music. Min-mi called the experience almost magical. She felt drawn to Jungkook, as if it was meant to be.
