Recently, the internet went into a frenzy after a picture of BTS Jungkook with football legend Cristiano Ronaldo went viral. Viral Selfie Of BTS Jungkook With Cristiano Ronaldo
The photo of BTS Jungkook and Cristiano Ronaldo was first posted online by a Jungkook fanpage. The fan page has over 500k followers on Instagram and went viral as soon as it was uploaded. Furthermore, the fanpage @mnijingkooke also has a blue checkmark, leading people to believe that the picture is real. The viral selfie shows the BTS member striking a pose at the camera, dressed in a black jacket, while Ronaldo wears a white T-shirt.
But once the picture started circulating on other platforms, fans noticed it looked AI-generated. A closer look revealed that the selfie wasn’t real and had been altered. The supposed meetup between BTS Jungkook and Cristiano Ronaldo in Dubai never actually happened.
Many people felt duped, while others just laughed it off, amazed at AI’s creativity and skill. Still, some internet users pointed out that AI-generated images can be dangerous. Feeding pictures of yourself or celebrities to AI is a controversial issue. Many AI models use the data they are fed for purposes we don’t fully understand. Uploading your face to these chatbots could make you vulnerable or a potential target for deepfakes. Uploading pictures of celebrities is risky too, as they haven’t given consent.
