BTS’ Jungkook Says He Quit Smoking On Livestream, Fans Defend His Honesty
Jungkook’s unfiltered Weverse live confession has ARMY divided worldwide.
BTS’ Jungkook has gone viral once again, although it may not be for the reasons you expect. His recent livestream on Weverse was full of various revelations, including Jungkook’s stance on smoking. The live is no longer available, but fan reactions to this whole incident are extremely divided. Read on to find out more about the 29-year-old singer’s webcast and what fans had to say.
BTS’ Jungkook Makes Surprising Revelation On Weverse Live
In the early hours of February 26, 2026, BTS’ Jungkook suddenly went live on Weverse. The K-pop idol is known to shock fans with unannounced livestreams, and this was no different. Dressed to the nines in a well-fitted leather jacket with his lip piercing on full display, the ‘Standing Next To You’ vocalist spoke on a myriad of topics.
Apparently, his brother and a friend were speaking to him off-screen while singing karaoke. He noticed one of them (his friend, fans say) lighting a cigarette and scolded them for the same. Then, in an unexpected move, ‘Seven’ singer decided to talk more in detail about smoking. Considering that he was of legal age, and almost 30, he said he should be allowed to speak on this.
Elaborating, Jungkook said he no longer smoked, Jungkook admitted that he used to in the past. A heavy smoker previously, he noted that he diligently worked to quit. He made this decision to preserve his voice as a singer. After getting this off his chest, the BTS member remarked that he would probably have to take the company’s admonishment over his surprising confession.
Fans Split On BTS Jungkook’s Smoking Comments
A large section of international ARMYs support Jungkook’s frank remarks. Consequently, fans on X (formerly knows as Twitter) wrote how they appreciated his unfiltered attitude. As the BTS singer is a grown-up, he shouldn’t have to hide who he is to appease people.
We gotta hype up more such honest conversations from them…that’s how they should LIVE …THE WAY THEY WANT

I have gone through as much translation and clips as I could, and the live was chaotic as hell 🤭🤭🤭 but I am really proud of Jungkook’s honesty. Truly, I cherish him sharing his frustrations with us a lot 💜

Korean netizens, however, were taken aback by the revelations. At one point, the singer also swore at his friend, “F*ck,” but refused to cuss at fans. This, along with his reflection on smoking, was viewed as a lack of humility. Many saw his honesty as unlike how idols must present themselves.

However, fans were quick to jump to his defense, saying he was hardly encouraging smoking. Instead he spoke about the difficulty in quitting the habit. In a latest update, the BTS’ Jungkook livestream was deleted from Weverse. Though the singer had mentioned he wanted to erase it himself, ARMY hoped that it was his choice to remove it from the fan application.
