Here’s Why Fans Think Arirang’s Title Track SWIM Is About BTS’ Eternal Connection With ARMY!

BTS is finally making their long-awaited comeback with the full album Arirang, featuring 14 tracks and SWIM as the title song. The two music video teasers for SWIM have come out and created massive excitement across every social media platform. The SWIM teaser shows a woman by the sea looking at a ship called Ulysses. Ulysses is another name for Odysseus, the famous hero who went on a long, tough journey across the ocean to get back home. He faced many storms but never stopped moving forward. Fans think the woman is like Penelope, Odysseus’s wife, who waited for him with love and patience. In this way, she might represent ARMY, the fans who have waited for BTS during their break.

The album name Arirang fits perfectly too. Arirang is a traditional Korean song about missing someone and hoping to meet again. Just like Odysseus swimming through waves to reach home, BTS seems to “swim” through tough times to return to their fans. The song SWIM feels like a message of never giving up and staying connected forever. Many see the teaser as a sweet, modern version of this old love story with BTS as the ones travelling far and ARMY as the ones waiting with open arms.
