Not A Drill! Ayan Mukerji Drops Update On Brahmāstra Part 2 And 3 Release Timeline! But… It’s So Far!

Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmāstra Part 1 received immense love from the audience. The VFX were widely appreciated and the world-building also received much appreciation. But now, it looks like it is time for Astraverse to expand. Fans were eagerly waiting for the details on the other parts of this film franchise, and Ayan Mukerji has granted their wish. He took to his Instagram on April 4 to announce the release dates of the second and third part of Brahmāstra, and well, it looks like fans are in for a long, long wait!

Ayan Mukerji shared a lengthy note on Instagram announcing the Brahmāstra Part 2 and Part 3 release dates. He said has been focused on creating the vision for the upcoming two films, and has released that he needs more time to “perfect” the scripts of the movies. Furthermore, he added that he has decided to make both films together so that they can be released closer.

Ayan went on to say that he has a timeline in mind until when he wants both films to release. In the second slide, he announced that Brahmāstra Part 2 will be released in December 2026 whereas Brahmastra Part 3, the final chapter, will be released in December 2027. He also mentioned in the note that he has an opportunity to direct another ‘special film’ which he will reveal more about when the right time comes.

The release dates of these films are three and four years away respectively. Fans rushed to the comment section to complain about the same. Many went on to say that this is a very long wait to get closure and see if their favourite characters meet their desired fates. While a certain section of the internet users added if Ayan Mukerji is taking four years to make the films, it will be worth the wait.

All those who have not yet seen Brahmāstra Part 1, firstly kudos for not succumbing to peer pressure, secondly, now you have three years to catch up on it! Hopefully, Ayan gives Alia Bhatt more substantial dialogues than just ‘Shiva’ in the upcoming films.
