Bombay HC Orders Removal Of Shilpa Shetty’s AI-Generated Morphed Images, Calls Them Disturbing
It’s scary how social media is now flooded with morphed and AI-edited images of women, especially famous personalities. Now, actresses are taking strong steps against it, and recently, Shilpa Shetty also moved to the court to allege the use of her morphed pictures. Bombay HC Protects Shilpa Shetty’s Personality Rights
The actor moved to the court with claims that AI was being used to generate her morphed pictures and voice, and those were being used in books and for other merchandise without her consent. As per PTI, the Bombay High Court bench of Justice Advait Sethna reacted strongly to the materials before the court. He called the morphed pictures of the actor extremely ‘disturbing’ and ordered the immediate removal of such content from social media platforms. The High Court bench strictly addressed the issue and stated that no person, personality, especially a woman’s image, should be depicted in a way that affected her right to privacy, and that too without her consent.
As per the reports, the bench all took note of how such disturbing AI-generated images could affect and tarnish the image of a personality, and in view of the same, it has ordered all the sites to immediately take down the URLs which contain offensive images of the actor. Reportedly, Shilpa Shetty had also submitted many images from various sites and social media platforms.
