BMC Elections 2026: Akshay Kumar, Hema Malini, Tamannaah Bhatia, And More Cast Votes

On Thursday, January 15, the elections for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) began. With many going to cast their votes, Bollywood stars are also fulfilling their duty as responsible citizens by doing the same in the morning. From Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna to Suniel Shetty, John Abraham, and Hema Malini, here are all the celebrities who exercised their rights. Read to know here.

Bollywood Celebrities At BMC Voting

1. Akshay Kumar

Early riser Akshay Kumar was among one of the first from the industry to cast their vote. He was spitted at the Gandhi Shikshan Bhavan in Juhu, and after casting his vote, he came out to speak to the media about the importance of doing so. He was quoted as saying, “If we have to be the real hero of Mumbai, we shouldn’t do dialoguebaazi, instead come out and cast out votes.”

2. Suniel Shetty

Bollywood star Suniel Shetty highlighted how people need to help BMC make Mumbai better as he cast his vote. He mentioned that this was by far the most important election and that, though people kept complaining about the BMC, they needed to do some work and help them too.

3. Aamir Khan’s Family

Bollywood’s perfectionist Aamir Khan’s entire family came in to cast the vote. From Ira Khan to Junaid Khan, their mother Reena Dutt, and his ex-wife Kiran Rao, the family came hand-in-hand. Junaid even urged people to come out and vote while showing his inked finger.

4. Hema Malini 

After casting her vote, BJP MP Hema Malini urged everyone to do the same if they wanted security, progress, clean air, and a pothole-free Mumbai. She said that only by exercising their right to vote will they be able to make the city better, and even the best in the world.

5. Tamannaah Bhatia

Bollywood star Tamannaah Bhatia was seen stepping out of a plling station in Mumbai. She also showed her inked finger proudly to the paparazzi. She was seen dressed in a simple pink suit with a bindi and slick back hair.

6. Sachin Tendulkar

Legendary cricket player Sachin Tendulkar was also spotted at a polling booth in Mumbai along with his daughter Sara Tendulkar and wife Anjali Tendulkar to vote for the BMC elections early in the morning.
