Blake Lively is officially getting ready to testify in the trial with her co-star in It Ends With Us, Justin Baldoni. The actress’s legal team has confirmed that she will testify herself once the court trial starts in March 2026. Blake Lively first hit the news in December 2024 after she sued Baldoni for s*xual harassment on set during the filming of the film version of Colleen Hoover’s hit novel It Ends With Us.
Blake Lively To Testify Against Justin Baldoni
Justin Baldoni, known for Jane the Virgin, pushed back with a counter suit against Lively for defamation and attempted extortion. The legal battle has received massive media attention since then, with both camps accusing each other of weaponising public relations strategies to influence the people. Blake’s lawyer, Mike Gottlieb, said her testimony will be a central aspect of the trial. He reinforced that the court is where the truth will be revealed, and Lively is willing to speak freely about her experience. He left no doubt that she intends absolutely to testify and tell her side directly to the court.
There has been speculation of Lively’s participation in the trial since April, when she gave an emotional address at the TIME100 Gala. At the occasion, the Gossip Girl actress discussed her mother’s traumatic survival tale of being a victim of attempted murder before she was born. She further made a very subtle allusion to her personal battles in the last two years, implying there was more than meets the eye to her ongoing legal battle. Gottlieb says Blake will not be alone on the stand. Other people who worked on the It Ends With Us set—or who say they have witnessed or suffered similar abuse- will be testifying live as well. They will allegedly provide insight into what happened behind the scenes during production of the film.
Blake Lively’s legal team also intends to introduce supporting documentation in addition to personal testimony. These consist of emails, production notes, and statements by Sony Pictures and movie producers that they hope will further validate her claims. With the March 2026 trial date looming, the case is building to become a major and possibly one of the biggest celebrity trials.
