Blake Lively Shares Statement
Blake Lively took to her Instagram and shared a story in which she expressed her gratefulness for the court’s ruling that allows her case to be presented to a jury next month and for the ability to finally present her side in full at trial, for her own sake, but also for those who don’t have the same opportunity, adding, many of whom she has known and loved deeply, and the countless she will never know. She then penned that the lawsuit was the last thing she wanted in her life, but she brought this case because of the “pervasive RETALIATION” she faced and continues to face for privately and professionally asking for a safe working space for herself and other individuals. Blake hoped that the court’s decision would show people that, as painful as it is, one can speak up. She asked people not to get distracted by the “digital soap opera” of her ongoing legal battle. The Shallows star wrote that the continuous packaging of this battle as “Celebrity Drama” is irresponsible and designed to keep people from seeing themselves in her story. The Gossip Girl star mentioned that the physical pain from digital violence is very real, labelling it as “abuse,” adding that it is everywhere. Furthermore, Blake wrote that her claims won’t be the first or last time people will see examples of the extreme dangers of retaliation and digital warfare.

The actress asked to protect them and have conversations with the kids. Furthermore, the Age of Adeline star wrote that she would never stop doing her part in fighting to shed light on the systems and people who seek to harm, shame, silence and retaliate against victims. She expressed knowing that it was a privilege to be able to stand up and that she would not waste it. Blake ended the note with, “Your support keeps me going.”
According to People magazine, allegations including retaliation and breach of contract against Justin Baldoni’s company, Wayfarer Studios, will be moving forward in the next trial, which is slated for May 18 in New York.
