The legal battle between It Ends With Us co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has taken another turn, with Baldoni adding fresh allegations to his countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. The latest claims revolve around the film’s intimacy scenes, with Justin Baldoni accusing Lively of refusing to engage with crucial notes from the film’s intimacy coordinator.
Justin Baldoni Reveals New Details In Lawsuit Against Blake Lively
According to Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit, a meeting was scheduled to discuss the details of intimate scenes in It Ends With Us. Lively, however, allegedly declined to attend and instead requested that Baldoni visit her New York City penthouse to go over the details. As a result, Baldoni found himself in the uncomfortable position of having to personally relay the intimacy coordinator’s recommendations to her.
The notes, dated April 2023, reportedly outlined a scene in which Baldoni’s character performed a sexual act on Lively’s character, culminating in both characters experiencing pleasure and engaging in foreplay. However, Blake Lively allegedly dismissed the suggestion outright, stating that she did not wish to portray such a moment on-screen, as she believed she was past the stage in her career where such scenes were appropriate.
In response, Justin Baldoni presented an alternative suggestion from the intimacy coordinator’s notes but ultimately moved past the discussion when Blake Lively refused all proposed adjustments, opting to rewrite the scenes herself. The situation escalated further when Lively later filed a complaint against Baldoni, accusing him of inappropriately bringing up his own personal experiences while discussing the film’s intimate moments. She also claimed that he had included unnecessary scenes involving her character’s intimate experiences.
Justin Baldoni’s legal team has also addressed Lively’s previous allegations about an uncomfortable and chaotic filming environment during the birth scene in the movie. Lively had claimed that she was left vulnerable in a crowded set with minimal coverage. However, Baldoni’s legal response states that she was, in fact, adequately covered with black briefs, a pregnancy suit, and a hospital gown. As tensions rise between the two actors, both lawsuits are set to go to trial on March 9, 2026.
