It’s official! BLACKPINK’s Lisa is finally making her highly anticipated Korean acting debut. A Korean media outlet recently reported that the BLACKPINK member is set to star in a Korean film featuring a star-studded cast. Lisa will reportedly be appearing in Netflix’s new film Extraction: Tigo. Top Korean actors like Ma Dong Seok, known for starring in Train To Busan and Lee Jin Wook, famous for his role in Sweet Home, are also part of the upcoming project. Read on to know more.
BLACKPINK Lisa To Star In Film Extraction Tigo Featuring Ma Dong Seok And Lee Jin Wook
The film Extraction: Tigo will be a Korean spin-off of the globally popular franchise Extraction, starring Chris Hemsworth. The film has two instalments that were released in 2020 and 2023, respectively. The Korean film will be an independent project, reported to be set in the same universe as the Netflix franchise.
Extraction: Tigo will mark BLACKPINK Lisa’s first acting gig after she recently signed with WME, a famous management agency, earlier this year. Fans are very excited about this announcement, as this opportunity will allow Lisa to showcase her acting skills on a global scale alongside some of South Korea’s top actors.
The film follows Ma Dong Seok will be playing the role of a mercenary who goes on a dangerous mission to rescue his colleague after being kidnapped. Dong Seok’s production company, Big Punch Pictures, will be co-producing Extraction: Tigo. Lee Sang Yong will be directing the film. He is known for directing films like The Roundup: No Way Out and The Roundup: Punishment.
BLACKPINK Lisa has previously starred in the globally hit series The White Lotus season 3. Lisa also attended the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards and the 2025 Busan International Film Festival. Aside from her acting career, the K-pop idol is currently on an ongoing tour with BLACKPINK titled DEADLINE. She also released her debut solo album this year titled ‘Alter Ego’, featuring singles like ‘Rockstar’ and ‘New Woman’ featuring Rosalia.
