Jennie Gets Real About Trainee Days

During Fairy Jaehyung YouTube channel’s video, Jennie described her trainee days as a “cruel” experience with constant evaluations. The most difficult aspect, however, wasn’t the evaluations themselves, but the emotional toll they took. She explained that the evaluations weren’t just about simple scores; they were about friends leaving. At a young age, it was incredibly hard to accept the departure of close companions. The competitive environment forced her to develop a tough exterior and changed how she viewed her peers. She noted that while young people typically learn about giving and receiving love, the trainee experience was dominated by competition.

Jennie began to adopt a mindset where she thought, “If that person doesn’t make it, then I must.” This perspective, she felt, narrowed her view of people. She was determined to debut, believing it was her only path. Having dropped out of school for this goal, she refused to entertain any doubts about her success.
