Is BLACKPINK’s Upcoming Album Delayed Again? Here’s What Reports Suggest

BLACKPINK is set to release their upcoming album soon. Reports of an alleged comeback have been circulating since early 2025. It was first reported that the group would release a full-length album in November of this year; however, that did not happen. Now, a South Korean news outlet has published a report that states that BLACKPINK will be making their official return in the first half of 2026, by releasing an album. Read on to know more.

BLACKPINK To Make Comeback In First Half Of 2026

YG Entertainment’s girl group BLACKPINK is one of the K-pop industry’s most famous groups. The group consists of members Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé. In December 2023, all 4 members of BLACKPINK renewed their contract with the company, but only for their group activities.

The girls have since then pursued their own solo activities by releasing music and doing other individual promotions. BLACKPINK, however, reunited in 2025 to release their chart-topping single ‘JUMP’, produced by BLACK LABEL’s Teddy Park and Diplo. They also kick-started their global world tour titled ‘DEADLINE’ this year, which had stops in Europe, Asia and America.

Following the release of ‘JUMP’, rumours of the group releasing a full-length album started circulating, with many speculating that it would be released in November. However, it seems like the project has been delayed yet again because the South Korean news outlet Yeonhap News recently reported that BLACKPINK will be returning in the first half of 2026, and their album is in the final stages of production.

If the report is true, 2026 will be an eventful year in K-pop as another top K-pop group, BTS, is set to make their highly anticipated return next year in March. All the boy group members were discharged from the military in July 2025 and are reuniting to make a comeback soon.
