As a massive fan, I like when my favourite K-Pop artists get the recognition they deserve. Well, speaking of K-Pop, the popular girl group BLACKPINK and their maknae Lisa make history by bagging awards at MTV Video Music Awards 2022. They were literally shining!
On August 28, the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. And let me tell you, the popular girl group BLACKPINK stole all the attention and we are so here for it. The girls graced the award show with their presence for the first time and they were looking so gorgeous, to be honest. The members – Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and Lisa created history by winning several awards. BLACKPINK won Metaverse Performance Of The Year and their golden maknae and rapper Lisa won Best K-Pop for her hit song ‘LALISA’. She became the first K-Pop soloist to win the MTV VMAs title.

The other K-Pop bands nominated in this category were BTS, ITZY, Seventeen, Stray Kids, and TWICE. In her speech, the rapper thanked the whole team and the girls for always supporting her.
The BLACKPINK girls also performed their latest track ‘Pink Venom’ and they were the first female K-Pop band to perform at the award show.
