BLACKPINK has set yet another record with their latest release ‘DEADLINE’. The K-pop girl group, which celebrates 10 years in 2026, has once again proved bankable in terms of sales. Since its release, ‘DEADLINE’ has topped Hanteo’s weekly album chart. Achieving this feat in just a few days after dropping the latest EP, it is easy to see the ‘Jump’ group’s influence on K-pop in South Korea and the world. Read on for more information about the record.

K-pop Supergroup BLACKPINK Sells A Record Number Of ‘DEADLINE’ Albums In First Week

Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa have proven why they’re so respected for their ability to bring forth sales. ‘DEADLINE’ was released on February 27, 2026. Barely two and a half days since they unveiled it, it has already sold 1,470,920 (1.47 million) units. Notably, this is a record for K-pop girl groups. The ‘Pink Venom’ group topped the Hanteo charts even though it released over the weekend, recording only about three days of sales. They surpassed previous groups and became the first K-pop all-female group to achieve this feat.  The Hanteo chart for that week was calculated from February 23, 2026, to March 1, 2026.

Additionally, the group sold a whopping 1,461,785 albums on the first day, again shattering a record to become the highest single-day sales by a K-pop girl group so far. This obviously massively contributed to their girl group record for the shortest time to achieve the best-selling album in a week.

According to YG Entertainment (as mentioned in The Chosun Daily), record sales have exceeded their previous expectations. In fact, they have apparently started production of more albums after seeing the results for the first week.

Meanwhile, ‘Go’, the title track from ‘DEADLINE’, was the most-watched YouTube video on the day of its release. Apart from its records on the well-respected South Korean Hanteo charts, BLACKPINK’s latest EP has broken new records in China as well. All songs from the album have charted on the Chinese QQ Music platform. This means it was a kind of grand slam on the music site! ‘DEADLINE’ also ended up at the top of the iTunes charts for almost 40 countries. As of publication, the ‘Go’ music video sits at a tremendous 31,858,907 views on YouTube and rising. Go BLACKPINK!
