BigHit Music’s CEO On BTS’ Comeback

In her interview with Music Business Worldwide, BigHit Music’s CEO Shin Seong Jeong talked about the challenges the company seeks to overcome for BTS’ upcoming comeback. She said the biggest challenge, as always, is ensuring that the group’s music carries authenticity and meaning that transcends time. She elaborated that BTS are not just global stars but have become pop icons of the 21st century.

The CEO says the key to doing this successfully lies in how sincerely their next chapter is conveyed as they come together once again to complete their shared narrative. The comeback will be an opportunity for BTS to reconnect with their fans, and as BigHit Music, the label is dedicated to fully supporting the artists.

The reaction to this interview was divided among fans. Some hoped that the label would stay true to its words by doing their best for BTS, while others were sceptical about their claims. Some ARMYs feel that BigHit has lacked in supporting their members’ recent solo activities and have demanded that they do better.

Others expressed concern as they feel that since BigHit also has two active groups alongside BTS under it, its attention may be compromised. The label is home to BTS, TXT and CORTIS (a five-member boy group that debuted this year)
