‘Bigg Boss 16’: Why Do None Of The Female Contestants Have A Problem With A #MeToo Accused, Sajid Khan, In The House?

On October 1, 2022, one of the biggest reality drama tv shows aired its sixteenth season. Yes, I’m talking about the one and only Bigg Boss. The show is the reason for a tonne of controversies that quite honestly, are extremely dramatic. And why wouldn’t it be controversial, since some of the contestants that are shortlisted for the show lead a rather dramatic life with questionable personalities. However, this time around Bigg Boss season 16 has crossed a line and hit a nerve when they announced that Sajid Khan, the filmmaker who was accused in the #MeToo movement, is going to be a part of the season 16 house. Honestly, when I first heard, I really thought that this would be just a rumour as there were female celebs who were a part of the house but it wasn’t. And the sad part about this is that none of the women in the house spoke anything about staying with Sajid Khan under one roof for a long period of time.

For those unversed, Sajid Khan is one of the many celebs that was accused in the #MeToo movement. Around 9 women came out and accused the filmmaker of sexual harassment. And after being banned by the film industry for the year, here he is again in Bigg Boss season 16 acting as though nothing happened.

In fact, during the Bigg Boss season 16 premiere event, Sajid Khan spoke about everything except the sexual harassment issue. As if that wasn’t enough, what is more triggering is the fact that there are multiple female celebrities – like Tina Dutta, Manya Singh, Saundarya Sharma, and many more who have come out in support of women at some point – raised no issues with his presence in the house.

The female celebrities in the house of Bigg Boss season 16 not only raised issues with staying under one roof with Sajid Khan but instead were seen praising him for being such a rich celebrity and washing “bartan” (utensils). They even hyped him up when he played the peacemaker when two of the contestants had a mini fight going on.

Honestly, with Bigg Boss house being the centre of controversies, it is a surprise that female celebs didn’t jump on the opportunity of starting a controversy by declaring not to participate in the same show as Sajid Khan – a #MeToo accused. Ngl, I don’t know how good he is at washing bartan, but the show seems to be doing a good job trying to cleanse his image.
