Bigg Boss 19 saw the return of Bollywood star Salman Khan as the host for the show streaming on JioHotstar and Colors channel. While the actor used to shoot more freely, things have changed in the last few years in how the makers capture the Weekend Ka Vaar episodes. And during a recent chat, the CEO of Endemol Shine India, Rishi Negi, opened up about the security measures taken on the sets. Read to know more about it here.

During a chat with SCREEN, Rishi Negi said that the security on the sets of Bigg Boss 19 has been increased over the past two and a half years. This is due to the death threats that Salman Khan has been receiving. The CEO revealed that they have stopped getting a live audience to protect the actor, along with a strict protocol about people coming on the show. Strict background checks take place for every employee, whether permanent, temporary, or even vendor-based. Rishi also revealed that around 600 people work around the clock in shifts to ensure the smooth running of the show.

“There are 3 shifts, and we work 24X7. There is fair representation of women in the workforce. When it comes to content security and on-ground logistics, we are absolutely uncompromising — both are top priorities,” said Rishi. Salman Khan is reportedly on gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s ‘hit list.’ This also includes comedians, politicians and rival gang members. He has publicly received various death threats in the last two years, leading to a significant increase in his security. Salman worked with 60 security officers and strictly adhered to a no-outsiders policy on set during his Bigg Boss 18 shoot.
