Bigg Boss 19: Tanya Mittal Is Very Happy That MP Tourism Cut Ties With Her After Pahalgam Comments; Here’s Why

Spiritual entrepreneur and influencer Tanya Mittal, now in the Bigg Boss 19 house, has finally broken her silence on Pahalgam controversy!

Spiritual entrepreneur and influencer Tanya Mittal, now trapped in the Bigg Boss 19 house, has finally broken her silence regarding the controversy that had surrounded her in the early part of this year. The 27-year-old, who is diligently making eyeballs on Salman Khan’s reality show, had been criticised after her comment on the Pahalgam attack ignited online backlash. Last April, a terror attack in Pahalgam, south Kashmir, had sent the country into shock, with over two dozen killed. Shortly after, Tanya posted a video stating that terrorism cannot be attributed to one religion. In her perception, she was expressing kindness, but within minutes, her statement sparked heated responses throughout social media.

The storm intensified further with questions about her work with Madhya Pradesh Tourism. Even though Tanya had portrayed herself as their ambassador, the department came out with a clarification that she was not officially connected with them.
Talking to Hindustan Times prior to entering the Bigg Boss house, Tanya spoke about the incident. She confessed that though everyone was expecting her to be shaken up, she was not. In her words, she went on working and traveling two days after the scandal, sure that her motives were clean. She described that to her, being good is not having to defend yourself all the time. “Happy they moved on” Tanya also disclosed that she personally felt relieved when MP Tourism severed ties. In her own words, if one can suddenly abandon you at times of need, then it only shows they never supported you in the first place. She emphasised that termination of that relationship made it possible for her to pursue projects from other states, which she deems a blessing.

Tanya had confided in the initial video that discussing the Pahalgam tragedy was “sensitive” for her. When media discourse was around terrorists, she preferred to bring to the forefront the fact that violence must never be viewed in religious terms. Her statement, however, became a magnet for argument online.

Now, within Bigg Boss 19, Tanya has already become one of the discussed contestants. Some housemates term her as overdramatic, while others think she is what the show needs, and the drama.
